Geography The Southwest has dry and hot weather.

In the Southwest americans in El Paso,Texas create factories across the border in Juarez,Mexico because mexican workers can work for less money. The factories are called maquiladoras.

History In Oklahoma on April 22,1889 the government opened 2 million acres of land to the the people. The catch was that they had to race down on horses or foot to stake and claim there land.
On March 6,1836 A small group of texans were defending the Alamo from the mexican army led by Santa Anna. Texans were fighting for freedom from Mexico. On March 2 they had declared there freedom from another fight but on the 6th Mexico attacked again.
